Pottstown Memorial Medical Center to Hold Free Community Event to Help Consumers Sign Up for Health Insurance Coverage
Pottstown, PA – January, 2015 – Are you in need of Health Insurance? Pottstown Memorial Medical Center (PMMC) will partner with Community Health & Dental Care to hold a free Health Insurance Marketplace event on Friday, January 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the conference rooms at the Chesmont Building, 13 Armand Hammer Blvd. to help area residents enroll in health insurance options on the Health Insurance Marketplace. Certified application counselors from PMMC and Community Health & Dental Care (CHDC) will be available to provide assistance to consumers who are seeking affordable health insurance coverage.
The Health Insurance Marketplace will allow people to compare prices and shop for health insurance coverage. Depending on household income, some individuals may qualify for financial assistance from the government – or subsidies – towards the cost of the premium and other financial obligations like co-pays or deductibles. Enrollment for the Health Insurance Marketplace opened November 15, 2014 and continues through February 15, 2015. As part of the Affordable Care Act, most U.S. citizens are required to have health insurance.
All health plans on the Marketplace must offer a comprehensive set of benefits, and individuals cannot be denied coverage based on a pre-existing condition. Some of the health benefits include preventive care and wellness services, doctor visits, prescription drugs, hospital and emergency department care, lab services, pediatric services – and more.
