Cancer Treatment

Clinical Trials

Our patients can participate in more than 100 investigational treatment and prevention protocols. These studies include Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG); and National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP).

Nurses who specialize in clinical research work with patients to provide ongoing education and support.

For further information about clinical research, call our Clinical Research Nurse at 610-327-7544.

(IGRT) technology allows radiation oncologists to better treat tumors and limit exposing healthy tissue to unnecessary radiation. IGRT is a precise form of treatment that utilizes multiple imaging and motion management techniques for more accurate tumor targeting.

Through better targeting of the radiation beam with IGRT, dosage levels can be increased and target volumes (the three-dimensional areas to receive treatment) can be reduced—allowing tumors to get a higher dose of radiation and limiting the exposure to surrounding tissues. This preserves a patient's healthy tissue and organs.

CyberKnife: The CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery System is a painless, noninvasive, outpatient cancer treatment with minimal to no side effects. CyberKnife is able to deliver very high doses of radiation to cancerous and noncancerous tumors with extreme accuracy. The System allows physicians to zero in on the target tumor and irradiate it without harming the surrounding healthy tissue. As a result, the CyberKnife treatment is more comfortable for patients, radiation is delivered more accurately, and treatments can be completed in one to five sessions.
